In Pedra do Sal, I had the opportunity to work on a project that celebrated Brazilian samba culture and highlighted the importance of preserving cultural diversity. As the lead artist, I was responsible for creating the game's visual style, including character design, environments, and UI elements. I drew inspiration from the game's focus on the 19th century Rio de Janeiro and the African-Brazilian religious traditions that influence the samba culture.
Working within a short timeframe during the Heritage Game Jam, I collaborated closely with the game's development team to ensure that the art direction aligned with the game's narrative and mechanics. I used my skills in illustration and digital art to bring the game's world to life, conveying the vibrant colors, festive atmosphere, and cultural significance of the samba tradition.
Through my work on Pedra do Sal, I aimed to contribute to the preservation of Brazilian cultural heritage and showcase the importance of diversity and representation in the gaming industry.
